Re: Vintage picture thread

My stepdad of their last 22 years was a trip. He had a real high IQ, wrote, broadcasted, Lt. Colonel - would have been full if not a General if he wasn't a rebel and played the game. He had a vocabulary second to few, even with dementia, who knew...

He was my best friend right, and always told me he owned a 1975ish square body (emphasis) Chevy, similar my C10-C20s, when he lived on his farm. He liked to talk about our trucks.

Soon after he passed I rec'd this, he had forgotten he owned one of the same era as mine. If you ask me now, his dementia may have begun before I even met him. One with his square body too. He built his house with rock found on the farm, I'll bet he used the 68 to haul it.

I developed an assembly information kit for restoring my truck from nuts and bolts. It's written in Assy. order, short & simple, packed with all OEM hardware ID; castings; part ID; 100s of part numbers; wiring simple - Resource, and trivial too.

Much info. applies to all 67-72 GM, A/C vehicles, esp. trucks W/O saying. Full search ability, including to 700+ images of illus., parts, charts, Assy., points of interest, cab, bed, & front clip cart plans- Specials and cores were serviced out and R excluded e.g. front/rear glass, body/paint, engine core, rebuilt hinges, steering box, trans, etc.

The project was in-line with long former professions developing process, policy, specs, demo, written for novices, admin., policy, engineers, development, systems & test - Public & govt 2, gross. Sell soft copy cheaply, PM if interested.

Drove a car carrier for 30 years. That Astro with 8 full size pickups would have been a real tough load to put on!

I took a pic of the snapshot with my phone emailed it to my computer, cropped and uploaded it. I'm sure it could all be done on the phone but that's beyond me.

Re: Vintage picture thread

I have had to use my cellphone pix to upload to the forum by tuning in 67/72chevytrucks on Google. My old Sony digital camera will not talk to my HP Laptop. Maybe Windows 11 thing IDK.
I was hoping for a platform with better resolution.
Also sometimes, my mobile device pix present sideways on this forum.

That's awesome. Yep, that pic definitely gets to the middle of me. Two of my favorite things are granddaddys and tractors.

Can you hear the Bonanza theme song when you look at this pic?

Looks to be colorized, but still kinda neat.

Re: Vintage picture thread

came across this one on Facebook groups about old gas/service stations. "T & D Washerette" (on the sign) appears to be 500 Seigle Avenue Charlotte, North Carolina (now taken over by an Interstate interchange

I lived in Charlotte around when that photo was taken but I don't remember that gas station. Looks a little too rural for Seigle Ave. That street was in the downtown, built up area. Cool picture though!
