Anyone used Gear Head Coil Springs?

Looking at putting new springs on the rear of my 1970 LWB C10.

While shopping, came across a set of springs that I've not heard of the manufacturer before- part # GH9170, "Gearhead" was what I came up with for manufacturer in searching. Not sure if tied into the GH Brand or if that is AI tying them together.

Looking for info on these and only seeing them listed for sale on parts sites- does anyone know who makes these, or have any of you tried them on your own truck?

Understand they are likely a midrange/'budget' quality part and probably made overseas, but I am ok with that for now as there are other areas on the truck needing more attention/$$.

Truck will be a driver, nothing too crazy but still have fun once in a while.

Re: Anyone used Gear Head Coil Springs?

I put Hotchkiss springs on the front of my Burban and have been pleased. They are 1 inch lowering springs and over the 6 or so years and over 30k miles they only sagged about 1/2".

In comparison to the Quickor springs I put under the front of our Javelin, they have under 20k on them and they have sagged over an 1 1/2" making the car undrivable due to the constant rubbing the of the tires on the fender lips.

It's my opinion that cheap suspension parts are never a good deal. And that along with a sawbuck will get you a steaming hot cup of Joe just about anywhere.

Re: Anyone used Gear Head Coil Springs?

Far from expert or hell even knowledgeable . I will say most everything I ever bought cheaper was just that. With work to install and what is riding on it. Suspension parts on the cheap would worry me. Most of time the cost would not cover trouble of getting tools out for the job of changing and installing more expensive part i should have used in first place. JMO
