1949 6400 - Dirty Deeds
Done Dirt Cheap!
In two years, I'm planning on moving to another state. I plan on using my '49 6400 to do most of the heavy lifting. 700 miles each way, likely 5+ trips. It's going to need some work... The Plan™: Swap cab onto a more modern chassis/drivetrain. Repair maintenance issues. Full rewire/all LED lights. Improve comfort and safety of cab. Keep (but shorten) flatbed, maybe add fifth wheel/gooseneck.

He's double dealin' with your best friend
And by "modern", I mean this ancient Pile Of Dodge. A '96 Dodge 3500 truck, originally equipped with a V10/auto now bastardized with a '91 Cummins Turbo Diesel and a 5-spd...
That leaks everywhere, has worn out synchros and bearings in the tranny, and the suspension is all worn out. This is the first and only Diesel i've owned, and it's a real winner...

This will be an interesting one to watch for sure. I love diesels and bigger trucks!

It's time you made a stand
OK, yes, I work pretty slowly.
But, I made an attachment to use my engine hoist to lift the cab off and a stand to set the cab on. Cab will now roll into my garage. Chassis will go to a friend building a mid 30s Chevy truck.

Re: 1949 6400 - Dirty Deeds
Got sidetracked a little. I've got 23 cars on my property, so I spent some time tinkering on and cleaning up my 1948 Ford so I could get it sold. It's still a project for the next guy, but I wanted to at least show that it would run and drive and is largely complete.
I need to get down to owning about 9-10 cars when I move... I've also got a Miata that needs some electrical issues sorted out. My kid and I are almost done with that and then I can get back on the '49.
