Does anyone make patch panels for stepside rear fenders?

Looks like I am going to need to repair some rust on both stepside rear fenders. Was wondering if anyone makes patch panels for the front of the fenders where they meet the side step plate?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks
Scott

Had to do this from scratch. Wasn't easy.

Thanks guys, seems like the aftermarket panel makers should consider offering these.

I would imagine that the lack of aftermarket parts / patches for a step side falls under the old challenge of making parts for a limited number of uses - thus limited number of purchasers.
If sellers can't see selling a certain number of parts they won't make the effort to offer it. Dollars and cents still rule the world in a capitalist society.

Re: Does anyone make patch panels for stepside rear fenders?

I patched mine like Shaky did. It was a lot of work, but came out lookin' good. I used patches cut from the top side of a pair of old front fenders off of my 72....The curves and radius of the bends matched the bottom of the rusted out stepside fenders pretty close. Mig welded them on...with some grinding and bodywork was not too bad of a job...just takes a lot of time.

Welp it's been 9 years since this thread was started. I imagine there is nothing new in this area, still no rear patch panel for a stepside truck? I need this part. I can cut and pound out a piece but I know it's going to be a lot of work and will not look the best I sure.

I'd probably order one of these front fender patches to start and see how much work it will take to make them work. If they're now where near close then you could return them.

That's a great idea. I have those. It does look like an easier point to start from. Thanks!
