Question ? best way to make dimmer work on stereo panel

i know how to hook a wire into fuse panel but what color wire can you use on the headlight switch to make the dimmer work on the stereo panel light ? note: this is a usa 6 stereo with a wire for a dimmer.

Just connect that 'dimmer' wire into one
of the dash lights (positive side with
respect to ground)...then the headlight
knob will control the brightness along with
the dash lights...If you have a lighted
cigarette lighter, use the wire going to
the center of the bulb assm....just splice
into it, that should work!

Make sure it has a seperate wire for the stereo lights, you dont want to lower the power the ALL the stereo . Sound kinda like a walkman with dying batteries .
