Blazer Exhaust kits
Anyone used an aftermarket exhaust kit? I have the muffers so just need the pipe kit.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
Heart Throb Exhaust makes a kit for 69-72 4WD Blazers. Part # 8141590. They list it for $441. If you search around you can typically get a better price from one of their distributers. Can buy with or without mufflers.
Good luck. |

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
I have used these on several builds. Not perfect, but still work well.

I used the stock exit 2.25" kit from LMC. No fitment issues. I installed it with the body off.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
Thanks, I checked on it and looks to be a good option. LMC say "out of stock" for Blazer and Jimmy models.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
Another vote for Heart Throb Exhaust - have used it on several blazers/jimmys w/o issue. As noted - it isn't perfect - but does the job if you have the OEM manifolds still.

By looking at these photos pulled from the Heartthrob site, the LMC kit installed on my 1970 K/5 looks identical to this. Heartthrob might be their supplier. http://www.heartthrobexhaust.com/4159M.PDF

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
I used the heartthrob and my own Thrush Welded mufflers and am very happy. My only complaint would be the passenger side pipe runs really close to the transfercase. Edit:I used band clamps instead of the u-bolt style muffler clamps included in the kit.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
I missed that they are offering these exhaust kits.
I ended up having to go to a shop & have a full system put in. I would have been more than happy to buy this system. I wonder if heartthrob would have been open to selling a partial system. I would have been more interested in a collector to muffler system where I either leave it dumped or have the tail pipes ran different. Thank you posting this topic.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
I went with the Hearthrob kit and I'm happy with installation, the kit is w/o mufflers I need to trim length of pipe to fit mufflers.

Re: Blazer Exhaust kits
Thanks, the kit was very easy to install. I had to make a couple cuts for my mufflers to fit. I did this installation on my garage floor I would say that was the hardest part. I went with NAPA for my purchase.
