1969 K20 Suburban

Hello,
After searching for many years i finally found the suburban i was looking for and recently took ownership. Its needs some work but is relatively rust free and drivable. This site is a wealth of information and i will be posting updates on what will likely be a multi year restoration. Happy to answer any questions anyone might have.

Re: 1969 K20 Suburban

Looks like a great ride already
Just change out the grill shell and away you go

I had a 70 in same color sub years ago
But kept the truck
If your ever down in south Boston (Hull)
Hit me up
I've probably got the grill you need hidden somewhere

Re: 1969 K20 Suburban

Ive been searching non-stop for the correct year grille and really don't want a reproduction. If you have one I'd definitely take it off your hands. Finally getting the burb out of the shop this Friday after having the brakes completely overhauled. Cant wait for the first drive this weekend!

Re: 1969 K20 Suburban

Is that repainted Dark Olive Poly? Do you know if it's single stage paint with clear coat or how it was painted?

Re: 1969 K20 Suburban

I have no idea what the color is on the repaint but i don't think its dark olive, its definitely closer to brown than green. I can tell you that it is not saddle metallic which was the original color of the truck. The current paint does have some sparkle in it.

Re: 1969 K20 Suburban

It looks lighter than Dark Olive but I'm color blind so that make it hard lol

I'm going to need to re-paint my 70 GMC after rust repair and I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with modern paint or if I need to try to get enamel paint.
