Headache Rack

Recently picked up an 84 3/4 ton with an old school brush guard and running boards. I want to keep it looking like an 80's truck so those are staying and I'm thinking about adding a headache rack. I might pick one up if I can find the right one cheap or I may just make one. I'm hoping y'all have some pictures of period correct ones for me to go off of.

Here is Big Brown.

Mine isnt vintage but it does seem to fit the truck pretty well.

It sure looks the part! It's hard to tell from my phone, is that expanded steel?

Re: Headache Rack

Yeah it is. Its not as bothersome as I would have thought. Kinda utilitarian in the looks department though.

Re: Headache Rack

Two variations on the theme. Red truck is a CUCV converted to a FD brush truck. Headache rack was part of a bed length combo headache rack, hose spool holder and rear arch. Cut off the headache rack to keep on the truck and the rest is waiting for future ideas.

Tan truck is a 75 C10. That rack was found in the OKC Pull-a-part yard sitting on a square body truck. Originally fit on a bracket that sat in the forward stake pocket. Rusted bolts led to destruction of that bracket. Came up with current thing to hold both the rack and the tool box. Rack seems more a sun shade then true headache rack.
