Shipping suggestions for my "new" 65 C10

I bought a 65 located in Colorado Springs CO and need to ship it to near Cooperstown NY. I am suprised to find that USHIP estimated are all above 1750.-2300. This is what I am accustomed to paying to ship a truck to my place from California. Any sugesstions. The trucks runs and brakes no problems so it will load easily.

NOTE! Go to post #11 below and see that I found an enclosed dleivery for an extremely reasonable price. $1800 for 1800 miles ENCLOSED!! A two car hauler. I apreciate all the advice . You all have been very helpful and supportive. I can post more photos when the truck arrives.

I've done business with CFR Classic when I sold a truck to a guy and everything went just fine on both ends of the transaction.

Thank you for the welcome, The last time I owned a truck from this era was 54 years ago. It was a 63 panel truck. I loved it! And you have a 64 C10 named George! Where did you come up with that name? That is my name. And why are you from squarebody land. I do not see any square bodies on your list of trucks.

I got Bad grammar, I meant YOU are coming over from squarebodyland, haha. And my son dubbed the ‘64 “George” when we bought it I have no idea why I guess he thought it was a cool name!

Any photos of your old Panel?

No photos of that old panl truck. I never even took a photo of it when I had it. It was red and white. And I sold it in 1971. But it had a lot of NYS rust on it so I am glad I no longer own it. i am excited about this 65 C10 though. The previous owner had it for aolmost 40 years and for the most part it sat in his one-car garage. When I bought it it had not been run for at least 20 years. I knew the owner's widow and sh contacted me when he died because she knew I am a Chevy truck guy. It took a couple years to complete the transaction but I am now looking forward to seeing it in my own heated garage.. I still have no idea what it looks like underneath. But I decided to take a chance on it.

There is a few members on the board that transport vehicles.

Maybe they will chime in.

I hope so. That would be super! I could actually deliver a car from NYS to Colorado Springs on my single vehicle car-hauling trailer, and then I could bring my truck back myself and have the trip pay for itself. The only drawback being that we are headed into winter, and I have 3" of snow at my house today.

Thank you so much for this! I checked his website out.

But I have exciting news. I called up a broker named Kathy Gant who has been in the business for 25 years. I told her my needs and budget. She called me back later and told me she found an ENCLOSED two vehicle transporter who will pick up my truck tomorrow and deliver for total cost of 1799. (1600 to the trucker, and 199 to the broker).
I am amazed to get this price for an enclosed trailer! No snow or salty slop on tmy "new" 65 C10. Thanks to everyone for all the advice and help.

Of course I took it instantly! Enclosed at no extra cost? A nno-brainer.

But yesterday I got a call from the broker telling me the shipper could not serve me since and axle on his trailer broke! Crazy news right?

BUT SHE ALSO FOUND ANOTHER TWO-CR ENCLOSED TRAILER (DIFFERENT COMPANY) WHO COULD PICK THE TRUCK UP ON THE SAME DAY AND DELIVER RIGHT TO MY HOUSE ON SATURDAY! HOW AMAZING IS THAT.

KATHY GAND IS THE BROKER.

Great news.

I am old enough to remember that style camper top.

I always liked the diamond pattern in the silver on this type of topper.

I never owned a top with that sort of metal pattern, but I know what you mean aabout that diamond pattern in the aluminum trim. I have ownede tops made in that style though, with a wooden framework and very heavy. I know the trucj wll probably look better without that top, but I really just want to leave it in place and possibly use it for traveling or caamping. The truck has three on the tree with a factory overdrive, so with the 283 engine it might get decent gas mileage. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow, Saturday. I am excited!

This is Kathy Gant's two phone numbers. She is legitimate. She found this transporter for me in less than 5 minutes. The truck will be picked up Thursday and delivered Saturday. The driver has already contacted my contact/mechanic in CO, with a phone number and his photo and a photo of his rig.

Not sure if the site could Pin her contact information but that would be great if it could. For someone who struggled at one time to get something shipped, this is very helpful information that might get lost in the forum. Glad it all worked out for your shipment.
