Headliner ( Pricey ) Option !!

Someone on a Facebook post showed this headliner and said they just bought one. Its super looking and attaches with magnets , but at 600.00 US a little pricey for me.

Re: Headliner ( Pricey ) Option !!

It is nice, but the one I bought from NPD looks stock. I'm curious why one would want a removable headliner?

did your cab have the option if not can you tell me how you went about mounting .....I had a Cheyenne with the option and liked the look and I thought it helped with deadening the sound in the cab
thanks

I have a CST, so it had one originally. My FiL mounted all kinds of gizmos to the roof- speakers, the hook for his CB mike, etc. I gutted it all and replaced the headliner. And yes, it was a lot noisier in the cab until I got the new one.

I bought one from NPD.
I use velcro to keep it from sagging.

Velco works great. Also if you have any lizard skin left over, it helps a lot. If you use the plastic chrome trim, be very careful not to use too long of a screw. You can damage the roof skin.

I also used the velcro on mine, but I didn't use the chrome. Mine never had the headliner. It does make a difference in sound.

Yeah, that is pricey. That company must have a very high overhead, or they have been watching B-J auctions and think those golden-priced trucks are made from golden-priced components. Pass.

Re: Headliner ( Pricey ) Option !!

To add- I installed my repro old school, with contact cement. Butter it up, let it tack, and lay it up. Better make sure the helper understands that position is everything, because there won't be a do-over. It's been a few years, and looks the same as when installed.

Did you just Velcro the perimeter of the headliner or use a few strips intthe centre as well.

LMFAO!!
I can't remember which 67-72 FB page I post it too, but I deleted the post due to all the Richard Craniums posting, complaining and crying like little girls, just like you're doing now.
Bottom line is this: I saw it, I liked it, I knew how much it was and I bought it and I installed it. I just wanted to let everyone know about.

Don't like it? I don't care, Just let it go.

Bless your Heart and have a nice day

Hey bud, I wasnt complaining about your headliner or its price as I really like it but would cost me 1000.00 by the time I got one here. I shared it on this site as thought someone might be interested in one. Being on here since 2003 and ony having700 posts over 22 years it sounds to me like you spend too much time on Facebook with your smart a** remarks to me about my post same as you were getting on your Facebook post but you didnt see acomment from me as I dint make one.

I put a strip of velcro inside every other ridge of the inner roof panel, the velcro sits perfect in there. That's it, nothing along the perimeter.

mine didn't come with headliner and Im planning on it. I don't want to use the chrome /plastic repop trim stuff either... I like the look of the traditional head liner ( and the price ) but find the pricey magnet version a interesting option........could you share how you positioned your velcro
thanks

Re: Headliner ( Pricey ) Option !!

Before you start, I wiped the ceiling off with wax and grease remover. Dry it off real good. I attached the velcro strips with two long peices evenly apart. Attach it on the ceiling with both loop and mesh. Peel away the adhesive protector from the velcro but leave it stuck together. It's very sticky. The card board used on these headliners is very strong. The velcro will stick to it really nice. Center the headliner as close as you can get in the center of the ceiling. Don't press it on yet until you are certain you have it where you want it. Once you have it centered, now press the headliner on gently until you have it started making sure it's staying centered. After you have it where you want, press it firmly. Enjoy
