Preffered Drop Coils and Shocks
Whats the preffered Brand of Drop Coils and Shocks to use these days?
I am doing a 2.5 CPP Drop Spindle and would liek a 1" Drop coil (Which I assume will keep it close to what it is now except give 2.5" from the Spindle. It th erear I am leaning towards 2" Blocks with 2" Drop Springs. Maybe relocate the top of the rear shocks. Ive heard good things about mabe KYB Shocks, Thinking I can keep stock length in the front. What about rears? Also read maybe Western or Macgaughys for coils. That CPP is too Soft. 69 C10 Step Short. LS swapped. |

Re: Preffered Drop Coils and Shocks
I am happy with the Hotchkiss 1 inch drop springs I used on my Burban
For shocks I am extremely pleased with the Bilstien shocks I put on the front of the same truck. I have used Belltech shocks on S10's before and they are okay but I found them to have a short (12-15k miles) lifespan. I also experienced short life with the Rancho 5120's shocks I had on my Burban.

Re: Preffered Drop Coils and Shocks
I bought the CPP 4/5 drop kit with KYB.. 2 1/2 drop spindles with springs and 5 inch rear springs.. threw away the KYB and installed Belltech…much better ride and the best option in front and rear sway bars..

Re: Preffered Drop Coils and Shocks
I’ve wonder myself as I had planned to go 3/5 on my ‘69.
Doing a lot of reading on this topic, my impression is that ECE was the overwhelming favorite and then mixed opinions on everything else out there. Bummer that they are no longer in business.
