Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Truck is absolutely filthy, but I was too excited about it to care after getting it on the ground. Finally lowered down with a 5.5/6.5 drop, new discs up front with all the fixins that come along in the kits, rebuilt drums in the rear, all new shocks, all new brake lines, wilwood master/booster combo and some fresh fluids throughout got this truck almost ready for cruisin just need to get it aligned and install the adjustable panhard bar to center this rear end alittle better than it is now.

Also ran into a little snag after everything was together… driver side is sitting about a half inch taller than the passenger side, I’m worried the spring might be sitting funky in the control arm or something along those lines so I gotta check that out as well. But reguardless of all that it’s safe to say I am VERY happy with how this project has turned out thus far!

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Ripped the truck back apart and realized my son put the damn coil spring upside down in the pocket so we flipped that back and the front end is leveled out now. Things happen, no harm no foul. Other than that I’ve been driving the truck every chance I get and enjoying every minute of it.

Slowly knocking the small tid bits left to finish off the list. Cleaned up some things in the engine bay. Got the truck up on the alignment rack and got the steering dialed. Truck drives fantastic now.

Now I’m here… trying to figure this wiring out for the plate light. In the painless harness i don’t have any plugs for the wire coming off the new light. The previous owner did all the wiring and I can’t find any plugs not connected back there… what can I connect this or jump this to to get it to work?

It connects to a brown wire. here is a wiring harness link for the rear lights. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...56&postcount=4

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Thanks for all the words everyone, truck is pretty much all buttoned up now. Last major things to address would be re-doing the rear and adding a posi of some sort, and spending the time with someone to really go through the tune so I can pull every last bit of safe power out of this ol LS1. As for now, I’m just enjoying driving it. I swear every time I take it out I get a thumbs up or question of some kind. Makes ya feel good.

Scored some more hubcaps for the garage walls so obviously I had to see how they looked right?

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Spent an hour in the garage tonight and got the rear down another 1/2 inch. Little trim on the bump stops and we’re as low as it’ll go without a notch (that might be a winter project when the bed comes off)

Next up that I’m starting to get ready for is tackling the rear end. This is the only thing that has not been touched yet. I have no clue what gearing it has, last time it was serviced, anything. All I know is it’s what I’m assuming is a factory 12 bolt? And it cooks my passenger side wheel under the most mild amount of throttle… the ol one tire fryer.

Gotta research all that alittle more on what would be best for my application but in the meantime here’s how the trucks lookin now.

Rust repair and a full paint job this winter is the plan.

Curious on if the asking price was an issue because it's a decent looking truck... What was it listed for?
And, did the rear end ever get an update?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

I have not updated the rear yet, I got everything to do a posi and some maintenance on it just haven't gotten around to it yet. Add it to the list for this winter haha.

Had it listed for 25K which I thought was fair, it needs some rust repair here and there (inner rockers and cab corners are pretty crusty) but its a killer driver as is. I don't know maybe I just had it priced incorrectly, the lack of interest in it was kinda wild to be honest. I didn't even get many of those funny/horrendous marketplace offers like you usually do when trying to sell anything on there
