72 K20 Front Axle
I've bolted the leaf springs to the frame and then the axle to the springs. Do I need to align the axle to something or does the alignment shop do this? One U bolt had a groove on the axle it went thru which seems to position the axle, but there is still clearance between the inside of the U bolt and the side of the spring.

If everything bolted up OK, and assuming the frame is straight, you should be good to go. If the steering wheel is not straight and level with the tires/wheels straight ahead, an alignment shop will need to adjust the toe in/out and/or drag link to correct the issue if the truck has been upgraded to an adjustable drag link.
