To the best of my knowledge, the 2500 series should serve you well. The 6.0 is reliable as the 5.3/4.8, I believe. I think the tranny would be the 4l80e.
As long as the running gear is in good working order I don't recall any fatal flaw. But others here are much more knowledgeable...
