FWIW-

I put the window in my '49 with the perimeter stainless trim installed. I took two of us about 4 hours and the results were unsatisfactory with the seal puckered up in the corners.

I found a glass shop that said they did classic cars. They had out and reinstalled in less than a half hour. They did shave a little off the edges of the repo glass I used to get it to fit better.

Here in AZ, soapy water doesn't last too long in the heat. I went to the big box store and bought some of the lube they use for pulling wire through conduit. Stayed slippery longer and was easy to clean up
