Suggestions on Replacement Wiring Harnesses

I’m about to tear into my truck to get her ready to paint, hopefully by April.
My current wiring harness is all the 56 year-old factory one, with numerous repairs and splices that have been made over its lifetime.
Since I’m going to have the bed off, and cab gutted to put in the new carpets in, I figured it a good time to put new wiring in.
I’m looking at American Autowire, and Painless kits
They’re both around the same price.
Has anyone used either or both of these kits to redo a truck?
Any Good/Bad things I should know about?
Is either better quality than the other?
Also, would I need a 23 circuit, or a 28 circuit kit?
I’m not leaning either way, but just asking for opinions based on experiences.

I used Easy wire in my 1970 and a couple other cars I have built. 23 circuits and they all worked well and a lot less money.

I installed an American Autowire complete harness. All the wires are labelled along their length. Get a good crimper. Install was straight forward. Get as many circuits as you can for future upgrades if that is your style. I have EFI, HEI and an electric fan. I added the under dash courtesy lights also.

I drove down there, and he gave me a tour of his set-up.

Yes. That's them.
M&H wiring harnesses are American-made with correct Packard/Delphi connectors, in the right gauge, right color codes, exact Factory lengths and are signed by the technician that built them.
Not cheap.
You can't do better.
They will also work with you for any upgrades like HEI, Internally Regulated Alternators, plus extra custom circuits.
But their Factory harnesses are ready-made.

I just completely rewired another non truck project this summer and went with a Kwik Wire harness. Have to say I was very much impressed with the quality and believe it or not, the instructions provided. They don’t just send stapled together copy paper instructions but a high quality spiral bound notebook. They go into detail on almost every possible different accessory and how to wire it along with color diagrams. The other project was a ford, and sometimes with aftermarket harnesses being GM based, it can be a tedious task, but was made very simple and at half the price of a direct fit painless or AAW kit.
