Not so new guy with a YG8 '72 C10.....

Hey guys......

Apparently I made this account in 2007.

Didn't have a truck back then, I was searching.

Fast foward to yesterday.

Picked up a 1972 C10 W/Highlander (YG8) package.

Solid dry AC truck that was built in Fremont California. Motor was rebuilt and has one repaint. She runs, brakes and drives great! All turn signals, side markers, dome, cargo lamps and gauges work which surprised me. Very well taken care of by the previous owner. I'm the 4th owner.

As for the Highlander package, the door panels and dash have been changed out for blue. The seat has a cover that I pulled back a bit and I didn't see any white. However I did see some plaid. Not sure what's going on there.

One thing that surprised me was that it has a rear leaf spring suspension and a 12 bolt. I crawled under and was expecting to see trailing arms, springs and a 10 bolt.

Not really looking to do anything drastic in the near future, just take care of a few minor things and enjoy driving it.

My plan is to add a bigger motor and trans that can handle the HP. Add a drop and some wheels.

Thanks!

It was advertised as a "rare" one when I purchased it. This is my first 67-72 truck so I did not know about it, but did a little research before I purchased it and there were ALOT of people hitting this guy up to buy it. He showed me what looked like at least 40+ messages he got and was getting to purchase the truck. So glad I got it because she's in great shape.
