Thumbs up Chrome headlight bezel..

i know this gets discussed occasionally and that most people want metal chrome bezels, but i thought i would do mine as an example that the painted grey plastic ones are infact chrome underneath and that for someone thats not an anal andy and so concerned with perfection (ex. show truck) that this CHEAP mod would work just fine.

That looks really good, did you strip the grey paint off or use chrome plastic paint?

sixty8... i just took some steel wool to it... you could probably use alittle paint stripper but i didnt want to damage the chrome as well...

Eric dont know what to tell you, where did you test to see if it was chrome? now i wonder when they started and ended this grey paint over chrome.

jonboy, i plan on doing the whole grille eventually. All i have done at the moment...... is what you see... 1/2 of 1 headlight bezel..

That will look pretty sharp when it is finished. Nust bustin' ya a little bit. I think that might only work on the 81 and 82 grilles. It seems like the later stuff had chrome trim that bolted on, and I think the 83 and 84 grilles are actually quite a bit darker in color. At least on the dual headlight stuff, not sure about single headlight stuff. Never had one.

i think this would be something worth looking into, but i am not going to ask everyone to take steel wool to their headlight bezels....

Ok, I tried it...it didn't work on the bezels, but my hood and fender are "chrome" underneath.

It took some doin', but I just kept telling myself, "Get 'Er Done," and I did.
