Need OEM Exhaust pipes for my 1969, 396 Longhorn

I am working on getting my exhaust for my 396 Longhorn and of course no one has it. I prefer not to get it made at a muffler shop. Talking with Waldron's if they had an old set of OEM exhaust pipes from a Longhorn, for a pattern they would be able to make the system for me. The 133" Longhorn wheelbase uses the same tail pipe sytem as the 127" wheel base trucks. So all I am looking for is the longer exhaust pipes for a pattern.

Did you try Napa? They carry Walker products and can usually order any pipe they made.

Not sure if they have exactly what your looking for but you might try Shafer Classic exhaust systems in OH. Probably not the cheapest however it appears to be as close to oem as you can get.

Re: Need OEM Exhaust pipes for my 1969, 396 Longhorn

I took a look at Shafers, and they have a lot of systems but I could not find one for my Loghorn. What I'm trying to find is just a set of old used exhaust pipes that are good enough to use as a pattern to make a new set. The Longhorn exhaust pipes are 6" longer than the 8' Longbox 127" wheel base trucks. I am trying to find out where the extra 6" of pipe is added. It's to bad no one makes the complete system for the Longhorns. Thanks for the info Dave!

I wonder if the 6" inches would be just under the add on portion for the longhorn bed?

Thats what I'm thinking but not sure. I'm thinking of buying the 127" system from Waldrons and figuring out where to add the 6" myself. should not be that difficult, Maybe! LOL. I think I have had bigger challenges!

I think your idea of adding the 6" to the 127 wheelbase is likely the best option.

That's what I think also. It seems like it would most likely be in straight spot in that area.
Thanks for your thoughts Dave.
