Oscar the 70 C10
Hi, I am Emerson, I am Corey's son and recently he bought me a green 70 C10 that was down in Ralegh just sitting in a field. It has been my dream to have a truck and to work side by side with my dad. Just seeing two trucks in the garage makes me happy.
![]() Bringing a friend made this trip even better. Even though we had some troubles we still made it and had a safe journey. As we were loading up the truck the trailer came off the ball and raised into the air. "Good going dad!" The tire even had a nail in it so we had to stop and change the tire. ![]() Once we got home, we used the original jack from my truck to change the tires and roll it into the garage.

Re: Oscar the 70 C10
I was reading this and was thinking, how is his son old enough? Looked back at old threads and it seems you've been "crazy" bout these trucks for quite awhile ... Congrats!!

Re: Oscar the 70 C10
The plan for the truck is to give it a 5/7 suspension drop and also to use the motor from my dad's truck and put that in mine just to try to get it running. I will make it a manual transmission and since the bed is wood, I will try to put a metal bed in place of the wood. It has an addon where there is a metal plate covering the wood so we will have to take that off to. I will knock out the killer dents in the bedsides and also the doors. I will have to buy a seat since it did not come with one and same for the windshield, tailgate, and brakes.
Yes, I've been around these trucks for a while and just love them. I might not be able to drive but by the time I finish I will so it will be an experience waiting for me. I have already had experience with driving a C10 before. My dad has let me drive his blue truck "Bluey" around the property and it was a lot of fun just to experience that.

I won't add too much content here since I am letting him write his own build thread, but I will check in from time to time. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day we picked up the truck. The whole adventure was an amazing day. We pulled this one out of a field where it had been sitting for quite some time. The truck had all the original sales documents and protect-o-plate in the glove box which was cool to see! When we got the truck home my son found the original keys under the floor mat. We ended the day admiring the truck after rolling it off the trailer and I took a photo that is reminiscent of one of the very first photos I took of my first truck. The theme on that truck was nostalgia and this photo ties it all together. I'm excited to see my son carry on this tradition and create his own perspective. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Oscar the 70 C10
I'm in for the journey & watching him grow. I didn't have the opportunity w/kids of my own but have helped w/a couple of my close friends' sons & their projects. I loved the time working together & then watching them grow/mature.
Here's one that we semi documented: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=715838

Love the picture of him with the keys! I'm sure we all had that smile when we got our first keys.
