Radiator cap for a recovery tank system
I put in a recovery tank to catch the overflow but I think I need a recovery cap to be able for it to suck back in. Will any closed system cap work or do I need a specific recovery cap. Any recommendations on which one (AC RC 95?)

Re: Radiator cap for a recovery tank system
I don't think the brand matters -- I bought mine from NAPA, can't recall the brand. It just needs to have a double seal (instead of single) to work as a sealed system.

I used an ACDelco RC32 cap. Appears to be difficult to find new at the moment. There are a few on eBay.

That looks like the one I have and I dont think it allows recovery. I will research it though.

Re: Radiator cap for a recovery tank system
The RC32 is definitely for an overflow bottle application. It is working that way successfully on my two trucks. It is recommended in this thread.

Re: Radiator cap for a recovery tank system
The Stant 330 (likely referring to 10330) is a 16 PSI Lev-R-Vent radiator cap designed for systems with a coolant recovery tank. It features a "double seal" design that allows coolant to expand into an overflow bottle when hot and pull it back into the radiator upon cooling, preventing engine overheating.
The one I have. Works as described. |

Re: Radiator cap for a recovery tank system
I found the Ac Delco RC27 that looks like a match and has everything I need. I will give it a try. I do not think they even make a plain ol cap anymore that isnt flowback capable.
