LockDoc, Help with My Door Lock Cylinders
@LockDoc. My door key cylinders on the C20 in my signature are very stiff. Some times I worry I may break off my aluminum key when trying to lock/unlock. I hope to replace the door handles this weekend (if weather cooperates) and was wondering if you had any suggestions on a way and product to lube them with while I am at it? TIA!

Re: LockDoc, Help with My Door Lock Cylinders
I'm not lockdoc
But this is what I do whenever I get a truck in Take off the door panels Squirt wd40 on every moving part On the locking mechanisms As well as the window cranking mechanisms Then inside the key hole itself As well as up into the roller that hits the door striker Then I move the door locking knob up and down over and over And open and close the door As well as cranking the windows up and down over and over Lastly squirting a bit more wd40 in the key hole itself And working it delicately locked and unlocked over and over Much of this can also be done through the window opening with the windows down, between the felts Not sure if all this is totally recommended But it works for me I've even been able to correct the trucks that have had stuck windows or door locks |

The first thing I would do is to get a couple of brass keys made and quit using the aluminum one Also, you can roll the windows down and there will be an opening at the back of the window that will allow you to see the lock mechanism inside the door, with a good strong light. You can spray penetrating oil on the lock and latch parts down through that opening.
