68 3d printed side marker socket plug

As everyone knows 68s don't have lights in their side markers. All of the new lenses I've seen have an opening for a lamp socket so I decided to 3d print side marker socket plugs. It uses o-rings I got from Lowes for sealing and has a recess to turn the plug.
Thinking Ill find some kind of nail polish to color match the plugs to my lens base instead of buying brown filament.

I wasn't able to attach a zip file containing the .stl file nor could I attach it by changing the file extension. I guess PM me if your interested in the file. I made it with OpenSCAD so changes can be made to them if they don't fit you particular lens.

You could put your STL up on Thingiverse if you want to make your design available

Re: 68 3d printed side marker socket plug

.

Thanks guys for turning me on to ThingVerse.

I was unaware.

Went through the first 40 pages of "offerings" on the site and narrowed it down to one thing that I could absolutely use right now. There were several candidates but this thing is the best...for me.

3D printing is something I've largely ignored since first hearing about it so long ago. Seems that was a bit of a misjudgment on my part as the tech has come a very long way since then.

If a guy wanted to dip into this...what's the entry price for hardware/software that would generate/print sturdy, useful gadgets?

Here it is...the can/bottle organizer. Simple yet effective.

The non Chevy stuff probably belongs in another forum, but:
You can get Autodesk Fusion360 free(Hobbyist license) for CAD
Cura slicer is free, as I believe most of the other options are
I have an Ender3, but if I were getting into it now, I'd get a Bambu printer

Thanks cbeerman

I just followed you on Thingaverse.

I have an A1 Bambu that I have made lots of stuff on.

I draw most of my stuff on Tinkercad.

I use an old Pursa MK3S+ I got for my Daughter back during the pandemic. I have no idea of what I'm doing in OpenSCAD but I keep playing with it and try different things. I learned Excel the same way LOL. Its good little winter project.

Prusa's a good printer. Mine's a cheap copy and it works great

I started this Thread in (General Discussion) in the link below.

Maybe we can continue the printer options in that thread?

Link: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...ht=3d+printing

As member (Rust_never_sleeps) mentioned.

This is a truck thread.

I think I will try to see if I can get some of these printed before the next swap meet.

I am working on choke tabs and other stuff also.
