Re: Guess that clip, clamp, retainer, etc.
A few steel retainers I missed.
Does anyone have a picture or source to the wire A/C wire & vacuum line retainers mounted on the bottom of the evaporator box? My notes say they're nylon, but I don't recall seeing etc. I added an image for the locations from the assm. manual. Also, (ha), I'm trying to confirm which head the temperature sender is supposed to go on, for a BBC. Pretty sure it's the LH head. Mine is on the right, which is probably on me from long ago. And, can anyone describe what retainers were used for the temperature wire, and perhaps a route description? I'm bet the house (gulp) one of those valve cover retainers in post 25 is used (4th row, 2nd & 3rd piece), but I'd like to know of any retainers used behind the head or at the F/W. Thanks

See first pic here for harness retainer on AC box: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1&postcount=54
Not nylon. Retainer for temp send wire on a SBC uses a retainer woven into the harness that affixes at the lower LH stud of the water pump.

Re: Guess that clip, clamp, retainer, etc.
My '70 402-equipped truck has the temp sender on the passenger's (right) side head, by the engine oil dip stick. It appears to be the factory routing. NB: the engine has been rebuilt, so it may be wrong, but that wire sits in the harness as looking proper.

Can you describe how the wire is routed and any retainers? On my truck, the wire came off the RH (truck side) portion of the firewall block. Pretty sure it routes through the firewall gutter, then?

Re: Guess that clip, clamp, retainer, etc.
Been a while but does anybody know if these type of clips are reusable? I'm assuming yes, but I have yet to find an answer as to how...
These came off of my dads 1964 c10 LWB. I'm almost positive these have never been removed from the truck. EVER. #1 everything was covered with about 2" thick of neglect and road grime. #2 passengers side front drum brake spindle still has the factory stainless steel tag around the tie rod connection. If there are reusable how do I reset them without destroying them? Any and all help is much appreciated. Oh yeah, these are for the manual drum brake hard lines the run along the chassis

Re: Guess that clip, clamp, retainer, etc.
I think once you've squeezed the "M" section to release it, you would need to re-expand it somehow after re installation. The most forward 2 fuel line clips on my 1970 GMC have this same style. The forward one isn't a problem to remove, but the second one back does not have access to release it from the frame, being its hidden behind the upper control arm bracket. I had to saw mine off with a hack saw blade. I'm hoping i could rivet on a pop in style clip, but there is not much room to work in that spot to use a rivet squeezer or self tap screw. What are others using in that location?
