65 Stepside C10 (Project is moving along)

Hey guys,

Just joined up. I bought my 65 a few months ago. I have been working on rust neutralizing and painting the frame and pretty much everything underneath. The cab mounts were in good shape so I left those alone. I am replacing the springs, shocks, brake lines, master cylinder, and putting all new brake hardware on. Once that is done I'll be ordering the American Auto Wire kit and re-wiring the truck. Then I'll focus on finishing up the 496 big block I'm building for it. I'll post updates. I'm sure I'll have a few questions along the way. A few things I have picked up from the forum are to use 68-71 C10 big block motor brackets and mounts. And, 73-87 C10 big block headers. Would you all agree?

I used 68-72 1 3/4" 'mid-length' Chevelle headers for the 468bbc in my 67/68.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Couple of more updates. The engine is in the truck now, but I don't have a good picture of it. Interior is almost done, just waiting until I get all the wires hooked up and test all exterior lights before I tuck everything away and install the sill plates.
