When I did mine, I left the outer rockers in place while fixing the floor and cab supports to ensure it ended up looking the same when I was done as it did before (i.e., erring on the side of the floor pans that no one will see versus a misaligned rocker that will be super obvious). Make sure your inner rocker on the outer floor patch you use has the inner rocker section fit up against your current outer rocker. I had to do some trimming as the Goodmark inner rocker panels I got would have had the inner rocker around 1/4 of an inch or so away from the outer rocker. All you really need is space for the water to drain out and to get a nozzle in to spray body cavity wax on the inside of the rocker and face of the inner rocker. I also painted the inside of my rockers with about 4 layers of Por15 up to where I would be welding and sprayed that area with weldthrough primer.
