A/C Cab
How much should I expect to pay for a solid A/C cab? A little surface rust is fine, but it needs to be pretty straight. Just need a number.

THE one you describe you want will more than likely run 800. to 1400. $

$8-1400, yikes! I was thinking more like $200. At least thats what I would pay around here.

i paid 350 I think for a A/C cheyenne cab and doors, little rust like dime holes 1 or 2 in rockers and one corner, and a couple dings...

Welcome to the board from another Wisconsin member. A rust free example simply doesn't exist today,, but you are most likely going to spend more than $200 for a clean cab.

here in md for a cab in good shape with very little rust i would be willing to pay anywhere between 500 and 1000 if i could find one

I sold one a year ago for $450. It was in great shape. Told the guy to make ma an offer and that is what I got for it.

I'd be happy to get a nice cab to replace the one on my Longhorn. It's so rough that the roof is rusted through on top.

I bought and paid a small fortune for a whole 60k mile rust free NON air, 67 GMC 3/4 2wd truck because the cab was totally rust free. I still have cab dents to massage on the back panel but it was priceless when I figured the caliber of truck I was going to build. I figure after selling a few spare parts I will have $1000 in a rustfree cab with doors and bucket seat. Probelm is the cab back panel will take $400 labor to body finish out.
You can't even by patch panels and good quality rockers for $200 and labor is $42 per hour here if your time is worth anything. Mark

Paid $400 for mine, rockers and roof had been replaced, doors solid no speaker holes. Needed weather stripping/seat and carpet/mat.

Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |

Huh. Sounds like I did pretty good then. I got an entire A/C truck for free. There is some dime holes but the doors are nearly perfect. One good fender, the box has some good dents in it but... Its a long bed 67 gmc 3/4 ton with a 350 but its set up. It's a texas truck with 31000 mi. on it. The guy just wanted it out of his yard. I still can believe its sitting in my yard. Now i should have all the parts to put together my 67 chevy swb. O yea and i got a 70? chevy van with disc brakes sitting in my back yard just waiting to be torn apart. Everybody ive talked to said the parts should bolt right up. And its got the gas tank behind the rearend so im hoping that will be pretty close to bolt up. I think ive pretty well described the reason i chose my name. haha.
This forum is exactly whati ive been looking for. tons of good info and very quick responses. I will try and keep you posted on the project and i hope to have some pics up next week. |
