Hey Gents!

Not much of an update, but I've gathered a couple parts recently to help bring her closer to completion.

Some perfect patina red short bedsides. I cut mine down, but these will obviously be a big improvement over visible spot welds and center hinge pockets.

V8 Emblem and 3100 spears. I bought the whole clip for these, and now I need to sell a whole front clip, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Also, another truck followed me home. Cant say no to a stray!

That green truck looks great. It's got the cab trim and a BBW, and looks pretty solid. Goes it have an engine? You could clean that up and have a driver pretty quickly. You are setting the bar too high for the rest of us, LOL.

I have not seen a heavy duty rear bumper like that on the stray that followed you home. Nice. And I love the big back window.

nice find on the stray. how is it structurally? looks good in the pics but thats not usually the reality of things. whoever built that rear bumper put some thought into it, they must have needed the tailgate to swing down fully since they didn't make that area a step like most.

It has the inline 6 in place, and an AC installed but looks to have been bypassed some time ago based on the belts. Everything is there, I just havent gotten out there to do some preliminary assessments.

Of COURSE I made the cardinal sin- I PULLED THE RUSTY PARKING BRAKE. Lord help me.

If I were getting back into TF truck owner ship that truck is just the way I would want it. How often do you find one equipped like that? I like six cylinder engines because they sound so good with a split manifold or headers with the right set of mufflers. I'm not into speed anymore, just a nice smooth driver is what I like.

Re: 1958 Apache Big Window Loooooong Bed "Lucky"

yeah, thats a kepper if it is solid behind the dust after giving it a bath and checking the usual bad spots.
my frame swapped '57 has a 4.2L inline Atlas engine. good enough for me, not a tire roaster anymore, just want a smooth, quiet powerplant that will keep up to traffic. ok, I wanna be at the front of the traffic line, but then, after that, stay at the front of the line except for the speed demon. lol.

It's got a little bit of rust by the drip channels on the roof, and it's rusty on both corners and the bottom of both doors. Otherwise it's pretty nice. Everyone loves pictures and details so I might make a separate post just for entertainment value since I have too many trucks and this one will end up for sale.

It actually does have split manifolds! It also has driver and passenger side spotlight mirrors. Considering it's a deluxe cab with a big window with very few dents and rust in patchable areas it's a great start for a truck. Wish I could keep it!

It's almost like they built that truck to my specs. If it was an automatic that would finish it perfectly.

Why don't these deals come up near me - I would give my starboard bollock for a good straight cab ........

I wish I could, but old age and energy level, in addition to the distance, won't allow it.
