Re: Headliner
I found a headliner kit on eBay a few months ago. That seemed to be the ONLY source for a kit that I could find and I wanted something to finish off the truck that did not seem as afterthought or out of place. I have some experience with interiors so thought I would give it a whirl. It said all inclusive and ready to install - which, to be fair, it was.
It had everything (bows, screws, custom fitted vinyl, etc) and the material was sewn correctly but the rods were generic and you had to figure out how to attach everything on the sides. Too far over my expertise I could not get it to look right within my limited experience. It needed to be wrinkle free, etc.I reached out to a few upholsters and I did not like how they thought they were going to attach it. I then stumbled upon an incredible upholster (he is on TV car shows and YouTube car themed shows) and he agreed to do it. Took him some time, but it is really flawless! I could not be happier. That was the last piece to my truck - the final restoration part. I may actually get it to a show this year. Thank y'all for all the kind words! If you can do it or know an upholster that will tackle it, the final product is worth it. All in, I could have bought a small car with what the headliner set me back, but then it wouldn't be done ![]() Just in case anyone wants to see the kit, https://www.ebay.com/itm/168152257885 |

Re: Headliner
$800 kit! plus pro install costs?
![]() well I reckon it's worth it, looks great.. but my old heaps will just have to get by with bare tin roofs ![]() by comparison, I can get a proform headliner for our IH 886 for under $400 IH 86-88 PROFORM HEADLINER COVER International Harvester
