Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got tired of the OG stock style fully finished interior and decided to finally upgrade to something more modern. Custom Door panels, Custom seat, headliner and steering wheel all went in perfectly with no modifications whatsoever so ever. Titan Interior AZ took care of the custom work and freight shipped it out to me.

Snazzy.
I'd like a better view of the Instrument Panel. GM/OEM gauges or aftermarket?

It’s magnetic and removable. I laid pieces of cheese cloth over the magnets to keep the bare magnets from directly contacting my cab roof/paint.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Installed 6" bags to replace 8" ones in the rear. Reinforced frame around the step notch, swapped blocks out to 4.5" and put a passenger mirror on this weekend.

The mirror on the passenger side is beyond useless, but looks damn good.

I was just on their site yesterday.. Was curious if they were legit or not as they had some good looking stuff.. TMI panels are a little bulky for my taste... I feel like these are a little lighter feeling and I really dig that... What was the process like with these guys? Is that the distressed tan color? Any additional details are great.. Im getting close to looking into redoing my interior and these would def fit the bill.

@v8truckin - Super NICE! Like that a lot.

Buddy of mine (and fellow C10 junkie) came over Saturday and we made a lot of progress getting the new engine in. Exhaust, fan, and starter to go plus a few odds and ends.

I came across them on their IG post for Dinos Git Down as a vendor there, so I figured they were legit. Was on the edge of buying the TMI but as u said didn’t like the bulky ness of their product, especially the full door panel and the price was significantly more vs Titans prices.

Yes I went with Distressed Tan and Smooth black, he sent me photos of the different browns and blacks before I decided. If you want their basic design place the order online and they’ll get back to you. For custom work I Sent a few emails inquiring about what I had in mind for my interior design as the diamond pattern was custom design pattern and was an added cost. Sent him some photos of what I had in mind and once it was agreed upon I placed the order online. The headliner was added after I placed the initial order for the seats and door panels and he sent me an invoice to add that since freight shipping was already included. We communicated over phone and email and made a few changes during the process, which he gladly made. Took a little longer than was expected but was ordered early Dec and the holidays so it was expected and he had an increase in demand. Glad I ordered when I did as the price has increased since I purchased my interior. I’m 100% satisfied with the interior!!

Sorry for the long winded reply

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I switched from the single plane intake that came on the ZZ6 crate engine to a Edelbrock RPM Air Gap. I think the Air Gap will be more suitable for Street cruising by moving the torque curve down in the rpm range. I was always confused why GM put a single plane on this motor to begin with. I've only drive maybe 20 mile so I can't say if it was worth the time/$$ or effort yet. I'll keep you posted.

New exhaust . I went with the Summit builders kit and Thrush glass packs . I didn’t use even half of the kit and I’m very pleased with the quality of the pipes wasn’t expecting them to be polished so nicely. I really like the sound of old school glass packs with the 383

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Last night, I pulled the Instrument Panel from my '67 K/10 Suburban so I can 'borrow' the Speedometer and use it in my '68 C/10 Stepside while that truck's Speedo is in the shop.
The Stepside's Speedo was reading very slow. A friend offered to recalibrate it if I could send it to him.
[NO PIX, IT WAS DARK OUT]
Sunday night, I started late. I set an alarm so I wouldn't go past midnight. The AZ Desert is gearing up for another seering scorcher this year -- so it's best to work when it's cool. That's later at night. I got the six screws securing the Dash Bezel loose. Had to work around the Choke Cable Knob. It was generic aftermarket and one-piece molded-on, not the thread-off Knob of the OEM Cable. I got the Headlight Knob off, found the little button on top the switch. Wiper Knob has a flathead set srcew. Easy.
The chrome Bezels came off with a needle-nose pliers in the small square holes -- couple of hard twists, and they're finger loose. With a small crescent wrench I loosened the 3/8 nut on the back of the Oil Pressure gauge. By then I was timed out and had to quit.
Tuesday night I started earlier. I found the end of the Choke Cable in the engine bay and straightened it out. Now it would pull out with some effort, but I didn't have to cut it.
Speedo Cable came off the back easy. The Connector plug was on tight but I worked one side at a time, and it came. Finally I was still hung up by the Oil Pressure sender line. I had to alligator down under the dash to get my eyeball on the connection. It was a 5/16 pressure nut still attached. Once I found the right wrench it came off OK.
Now the Instrument Panel would come off. Printed Circuit was dated April 1967.
Maybe tonight, I'll extract the Speedo and R&R it with the one in the Orange Stepside.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well hopefully I have a spare in the one of the heater panels I have stashed. The biggest part of job will be trying to lube up the cable or figure out why the doors jammed so it moves easy again.

In addition the interior driver side door handle relay spring broke the day before. At least I believe that's what went POP and now the door handle has almost no spring return. Looks like a maintenance day is coming up soon.

Getting closer to finishing the Turbo 350 rebuild. Also, the engine is getting closer to being finished from the engine builder.
