It can be done. Axle flip and maybe a 1 or 2 inch block. But you'll need to do a C-notch to the frame. for clearance

Re: 5/7 drop on a leaf spring truck??

Axle flip alone on a leaf spring truck will get the back really low. Probably more than 7” drop.

This. I’m not sure how low I’ll be once the bed and sheet metal is back on, but I was really surprised how low it went with just the flip. Definitely requires a c-notch of some kind

Re: 5/7 drop on a leaf spring truck??

My ‘69 short step is 4.5”/7” drop. The DJM flip actually lowered the rear 7 1/4” over stock. My truck has the HD rear leaf so that might change the total amount slightly due to spring pack thickness.

I have ECE 2 1/2” spindles and their 2” small block spring in the front. I am quite pleased with it. I have not notched it but did use small urethane bumps on the rails that I believe came in the kit.

I’m running 17” zero offset wheels. 17x8 in front ( 4.5” bs) and 17x9” in the rear (5” bs).

I don’t have any photo hosting anymore and it seems all my previous pics are gone. I’ll see if I can directly upload here or not.

Re: 5/7 drop on a leaf spring truck??

Leaf-spring pack thickness + 1/2 the axle tube O.D. will typically tell you the amount of drop to expect.
