Re: FREE 1974 Chevy C30 3+3 Dually

"I *think* it is also a camper special. I thought I saw an emblem on there somewhere, but I’ll have to look it over again to be sure, I know it does say 3+3. I do know it has the weird shock braces between the bed and the cab, and the bed appears to have the correct holes for the factory camper tie down points. The RPO tag calls out camper mirrors as well."

With the braces between the bed and cab, I believe this was with the "Trailering Special" option. I am attaching a couple pictures. I was already digging through some parts boxes looking for some stuff. I see you did already find the TeePee cab corners. Good job. I am still searching, but I may have a pair of Cheyenne Super 30 fender emblems. I have trouble finding stuff, but I am still looking. Good luck!

Re: FREE 1974 Chevy C30 3+3 Dually

I’ve done a couple different EFI setups now and I think I know what to expect from this one. I’ve found that TBI style EFI systems don’t like dual plane intakes as much, open plenum single plane seems to work best. I had the original Holley Sniper on a 96-00 Vortec, and worked through quite a few issues on that system. It didn’t like mag pickups in distributors, either. I had to go Hall effect to eliminate those issues.

I have a basic Terminator X on my other LS swapped K20, and that one works great with all the original LS hardware.

I’m also going with a very unique setup on a hybrid TBI/Vortec/LS engine I’m building for my Nova, which will have a Universal Terminator X Max. It uses a deep skirt, billet splayed mains, 631 roller block, stroked to 3.75”, aluminum Vortec style heads with an LS valve train, and getting topped with this MPFI intake with 42LB injectors, and a 92MM LS3 drive by wire throttle body. I’m really excited to try this setup out when it’s assembled one day.

I’ve never seen those Trailering Special badges, those are pretty cool. I double checked the truck when I got home, I’m certain mine actually were Camper Special badges.
