Drop hangers for 1970 GMC C2500.

I am having trouble finding a drop leaf spring hanger for my 1970 3/4 ton pickup. It has the HD rear leaf springs. They are the same 2.25 inches wide as the standard & C10 springs. There must be at least 5 different manufacturers making drop hangers for the 73-87 trucks. Does nobody make a version for the narrower leaf 67-72? (I am looking for a 4" drop in the rear, and do not want to notch the frame.) I have drop shackles and a set of "pancake" bump stops. The cab and bed are off of the frame. Does any one know where to get the drop hangers that I need?

Thanks Blue Boy. That looks like what I need. Ordered a set today. I don't know why they chose to call them C10 hangers (C10 trucks have coils in the rear.) I think they could sell a few more, if they knew what to call them.

Not all C10 trucks were coil spring in the rear.
GMC trucks had more than Chevrolet,... but you could get them in both.

I know this is an older thread but I can't find these drop hangers on the x2industries site. I've got a 1969 GMC with leaf springs and I'm wanting to find these drop hangers. The 73 to 87 are all over the web, and I'm wondering if these 73 to 87 would work. The mounting holes may be different but I'm willing to drill new holes if needed.

Spring widths were different (67-72 vs 73-87 leafs) for the half-ton trucks. What width are your leafs?

As far as using 73-87 hangers, where there's a will.... there's a way.

Thanks SCOTI! Yeah that's my moto too. Spring width is 2 1/4. I'm thinking I can make them work, if I can't then I'll send um back.

PO put a 73 to 87 front end and rear end to have the 5 lug. But the leafs are original as for as I can tell. I took a leaf out a few years ago and it lowered it about 1/2" or so and it made it ride better too, and I have drop shackles on as well. I'm probably going to do a flip kit if I can't get the drop hangers to work.

Some spacers to take up the difference should work. Check McMaster Carr for some hardware. If you can find what you need, it would be easy enough to tack the spacer/washer/bushing in place making the stopgap more robust.

If you are going to use the square body hangers, you could run the square body leaf springs. That would created the exact sized spacers you need for it to fit… And as you have found, there are lots more parts available for square body drops and leaf springs.

4x4 67-72 trucks have 2.5” wide leaf springs. So did the one ton/Longhorn trucks. The four wheel drive hangers added height however.

Not a bad idea & easy enough (easier) to pick-up some 73-87 leafs
