Engine Q's For '80 CHEV's/GMC's...

What engines were available or equiped in GMC and Chevy trucks of the 1980 model year? I'm possibly buying an '80 Chev pickup(but any 73-87 is still an option too) and I'm not familiar with engine options for them. Also wanted to know any problem engines of the '73-'87 era more specifically too I suppose. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Brian

Probally 305 or 350, could be 454, V6, 250, or 292 though...

hmmm this is how i break it down for my friends:
250, 292 = good for a show truck, work truck, beater, etc. great gas mileage (relatively that is): 2 barrel carbs by this point *i think*
305 = trade off between power and mileage; theoretically a 4 barrel can yeild better MPG if you baby it, but who would baby it 305 has plenty O giddup, but isn't wicked performance. 305 is a 2 barrel in 1980.
350 = the "best" (supposedly) motor for these trucks; great power, potentialy decent MPG, large amount of raw materials. also you don't have some of the problems a BB supposedly has (though i don't know since i don't have a BB)
454 = wicked power, horrid MPG, nuff said.
My C10 is packing the original 305 V8, over 145000 miles, still rockin'
I've been told i should put a 4 barrel intake on it, but if it aint broke (yet)....
This is just my .02, so don't take it as 100% fact.
