More dope smokin old man rigging goin on
Yup, found some more here...actually, I knew it was there, just never had any pics...
For starters, this truck was originally a 305 V-6 /TH400. As most of us know, the TH400 mounting pad is a little further back than a TH350. When he installed the TH350, instead of unbolting the cross member and moving it to the PREDRILLED holes, he just fabbed this out of steel plate. All it is, is an extention mouniong pad, reaching back from the crossmember. One advantage though, when you go to drop the tranny pan, there is no cross member in the way to make you dump all the red crap in your hair. Here is another...rather amusing. I just wonder what he paid for the pot he was smokin when he did this... When he placed the engine and tranny combo in, it was at a slight angle..the rear of the tranny is a bit too far to the passenger side. Instead of loosening up a fer bolts and kicking the tranny to move it over, he took the shifting arm and extended it since it wouldn't reach. No joke. You can see plain as day where this buger was cut and welded with an extention. The Dope Smokin Old Man...a true inbread b@stard. |

The same super mind must have had my truck also...
I had a orange dropcord that powered my headlighs from under the dash. Then to make it worse I had the old coat hangger holding up one of my mufflers And lets not forget the hole that they made in the hump for the 3 speed shifter to (work right) Thank God people like us are willing to go back and fix this damage.

He musta had mine at one time too.. my wiring is so messed up it's not funny, everything is just twisted and taped together. Looks like there was an electrical fire at one time, the fuse box is half melted, but he fixed that with more cutting, twisting and taping..

Any of you who need extra wire, let me know. Under my dash I have some extention cord, some phone cable, LOTS of speaker wire (but there were no speakers)(or RADIO) and lots of miscellaneous, unidentified wire. I have a new underdash harness. Can't wait to get the Chevelle back on her feet so I can get the wiring done. All the guages now work.
