Junk yard prices???

What would you expect to pay from a junk yard for a front windshield, bench seat, and a complete rear end(coil springs - 3.73 ratio) for a 1969 C10...Would it be cheaper just to buy the whole truck???

ThanksDave

Windshieds aren't worth the trouble, and usually they're hazy around the edges after 30+ years. I'd only be guessing on the other items...<50 bucks on the seat and maybe 150-300 bucks on the rear. JMO

I agree with sweet on the windshield and the prices for the other 2 items.

Buy a new windshield for about 100 or 125.

It just depends on the junkyard. I know people sell rear axles from anywhere from $50 to $800. lol SO yea, in some cases buying the truck would be cheaper, I usually just say hmm, thats nice, and leave when stuff it that overpriced though. lol

Rearend would go from $100-$250 around here. Just depends. From my experience (a crappy one) junkyard rears are a gamble. Do you feel lucky?

I'd buy a new windshield unless you are strapped for cash....when i bought my truck (~4 years ago) i had a new one installed for $190.

One thing I've learned is that the pick n pull yards know the value of stuff on a screen, but have not clue when looking at something. When they ask me what it came off of (any part i may have for the day), I'll say "some old truck back there, actually it was on the ground so not sure, but I think it'll fit". I've got so many things cheap that way. Kinda funny that way that works. My last deal was a 69 grill inner/outer...the cashier rang it up as a plastic
grill

Around here, a windshield goes for $40, seat about $25 and rear $75. I've seen some nice windshields in junkyards and if I needed one and the right one was available, I'd get it. (let them remove it-most insist on that anyway)

The last new windshield I bought was for my '72 Chevelle and it was $200! Prices went up on them it seems. A few years ago, I could have bought that same one for $106 or so. ???
