Oil Pan
I'm looking to put a big-block in my 72 Chev 3/4 ton 4x4, and was wondering which oil pan will work. It has the 73-87 big-block pan, and I'm wondering if it will work. Any thoughts?

I believe that shouldn't be a problem as long as the pan is from a 4x4 truck. If not, pans are cheap. The rest of the engine shouldn't have any problems.
By the way, where is Tieton, Wa?

The pan on it is for a mid 70's on 4x4, so hopefully it will work. Tieon, Wa. is about 10 miles west of Yakima, which is about 150 miles or so east of Seattle. It's a huge town of about 1,000 people, so you won't find it on most maps.

I know that place very well. I have been going camping there since I was eight months old. DO you live there? I stay about five miles from Rimrock lake and sleep right next to the Tieton river. If you live there and need something form the west side let me know. I live in Gig Harbor, but will be there the 24th of July.

from what ive heard from big block into 4x4 swaps is you either need to do a body lift or "massage" the firewall for distributor clearance

not true shag, my truck has no body lift or firewall beating, it looks like all was done is move the engine crossmember up a few inches.
