elec choke hook-up
I know plenty of you guys have a 1406. What I need is a pic of where you connected the choke wire under the dash. The wire it came with doesn't seem to reach the fuse panel. TIA...

make a longer wire of 12 G & hook it to the empty terminal which is hot with key on only. it depends on what year your cab is, some are horizontal, some are vertical. just use a test light.

I ran mine thru an oil pressure switch so it only warms while engine is running, not just while key is "on". Use a two prong switch for an 85 silverado 305 Qjet. Brian

I just tap off the 12v switched HEI hookup wire with one of those 3m connectors that are made for tapping into a wire. Tape it up and cover it with some wire loom. You'll never see it again. The bonus is that you wont have to see another ugly wire passing thru the firewall.

I ran mine off of the "IGN UNFUSED" terminal in the fusebox. Spliced it in with a female spade connector, 16 guage wire, and inline fuse holder (don't want to catch the truck on fire). Works fine.

I used a factory emissions wire on a friends 1970 burb. It was a red wire that came through the firewall right by the brakes. The emissions stuff is all gone and it is hot when the key is on. You might have the same one in your truck.
