tailight housing/electrical removal?

what's the best way to remove the housing for the tailight & reverse/side marker lights without damaging the electrical?

I'd like to be able to disconnect the wiring without cutting it so that I can just pull everything ( the bulb/housing & wires ) right out of the tailight & reverse light holes once I uscrew the metal housing. Does the wiring disconnect like the bed did from the frame with a plug? It looks as if the wires go into the male end of that plug, and that I do have to cut them.

I'm going to be putting on some new bedsides, and don't want to make my job harder later....

thanks in advance....

thanks john,

does it unplug from the back of the light housing or somewhere underneath? Not being lazy, I just looked and couldn't tell exactly where to unplug things...

If there's a way to screw this up I'll find it!

As John said there are plugs, there should be one next to the drivers side frame rail at the rear (it goes through the rear box crossmember) and the other plug goes through the firewall (can't miss it), Doug

THE TAILIGHT & BACKUP HOUSINGS SIMPLY UNPLUG. A PLASTIC CLIP HOLDS THE BULB RECEPTICAL IN THE HOUSING. IT IS COVERED WITH A RUBBER BOOT. THE SIDE MARKERS ARE JUST PUSH & TURN & THE WHOLE RECEPTICAL, BULB & ALL COMES OUT. IT WILL BE PRETTY MUCH SELF EXPLANATARY, & MAKE SENSE ONCE YOU PULL IT OUT. JOHN
