help me decide??(ocbaud=timspeed!!!)
I CANT MAKE UP MY MIND!!!
sorry tim, haha i'm getting $1300 for my car within the week. i dont know what i want to do with it. 2 choices: 1: new spindles new coils front-end kit shackles c-notch tires 2: new spindles tires gears posi i think it would all end up being the same price in the end. i have to get new spindles because one of mine is kinda borked. i need the tires to finally run my 17's. the front end does need refreshed, but i dont know if it needs it right now. |

If you can hold off a little longer with the spindles, I would go with tires, gears and posi. Then save any money you have left (yeah right, like I know that will happen) and add some more to it when you get it to do the spindles, coils, front end kit and other drop stuff.
I know it will be nice to get the 5/7 on with new front end parts and stuff, but the gears and posi will put a smile on your face soap will never wash off.

well, the deal is this: its a safety issue.
when we lowered the truck, i didnt grease one of the inner wheel bearings enough and after a while it started to dig into the spindle. i would say that it dug through atleast a quarter inch of metal before i replaced and regreased the bearings. so now the rotor fits in to far, which causes the wheel to be moved in about a quarter inch more than the pass. side. i dont know if it would cause me trouble, and i would love to do it all at the same time, but it would make me feel better getting them replaced. |

Well, then, just replace the spindles along with what I said above. This would take care of the safety part. Then later you could do the drop and front end.

yeah, and i'm gonna be getting the 3" djm spindles so i'm set later on too.
i just need to pick out some tires(255/50/17's) that i like for a good price. and i need to find the cheapest place to order a set of gears and posi unit. |

Haha, do 5/7...as of Monday, my truck will by 5/7 (Going to Summit this weekend to get the coils/shackles)

Yea I agree wit number 2. The fact your serious enough to d oa high performacne engine. You need to be serious enough to back it up with a solid rear end I dont care wat else you do but please get gears! And iam with bigblock hehe. If you dont get gears! and you come on here telling us you went to the track lol..I will close ur thread.

If you try really hard Eric, you could prolly squeeze everything in. Do this:
1.) Spindles from Summit = $275 shipped (Maybe cheaper) You need to do these, for safetys-sake 2.) Tires for the 17's = $400 shipped Get 255/55 17" Kumho's from TireRack, like $75 a piece 3.) Eaton Posi/3.73 Gears = $500 + install Get your Posi from either Tom's/Randy's/National/WestCoast and it'll be like $375 shipped. Get your gears from Summit, most likely around $125 shipped Now, just find someone to install the rear end, and you're set. This way, you'll be SAFE, LOWER, AND get traction. Trust me, with a total of 4.5" of drop up front, and a 255/55 17 tire, you'll be PERFECT. No point in spending a lot more $$ just for .5" of drop. Shoot, if it's THAT bad, just do like TwinTurbo said, and cut a SMALL piece off the coil. |

255/55's are to tall for me.
i would go with the 255/45's but they wont look right unless i have the 5/7 drop. and kumho doesnt make the 711's in a 255/50 or i would get those. |

okay how about this:
spindles gears posi 2 new tires i already have a pair of falken 275/50/17 tires that i could use for now. that should save me some money. |
