Lightbulb NOT power steering pump....fuel pump

I just recently replaced the power steering pump on my old truck and got my two trucks mixed up. Anyway I found the problem with the fuel pump its within the relay and the fuse in the relay for the fuel pump is extremely hot... possibly melting. Is this a problem with the whole relay box (apparently they are $2500) or just the fuse. Earlier before I took out the fuse if I beat on the relay box the fuel pump would and engage and therefore the truck would start, but obviously this isn't the way to go about things. HELP
