Post 68 Chevy C10 (In Pieces) For Sale to Good Home

Fellow Truck Lovers,

Due to time, budget, and other factors, I find myself having to part with my 68 Chevy C10 in Mid-frame-off-restoration. While I could easily sell it for parts, I would really like to sell it to someone who might consider completing the restoration (Original or modified or hot-rod all ok).

I bought this truck because of its unique history. See... I am an alumnus of Purdue University (Go Boilermakers!) and also work at the University. This truck was actually purchased by Purdue in 1967 or 68 as a fleet vehicle (most likely working on one of the Purdue farms under the School of Agriculture). One of the keys has "Property of Purdue University -- Do Not Duplicate" stamped on the key!

The truck is now completely disassembled. The frame has been sandblasted and painted as were the a-arms, spindles, and front crossmember. The cab has been sandblasted and primed and I have replaced both rockers, floorboard, and cab corners. Windshield and rear Glass are out but intact (windshield has about one inch of fogging around the edge but rear glass is good as well as all door glass).

Drivers Door needs a lot of work (might just replace) but the pass door is pretty good except for rust in the usual spots. Fenders pretty good, minor rust and minor dents but very repairable. Front grill solid with a spot of surface rust. Hood is solid with minor surface rust. The bed and gate are crap except for maybe the bead header and the tubs. Floor, sides and gate are beat to heck. Three-on-the-tree column with a Jasper rebuilt tranny. Inline Six 250 engine. All small parts ziplocked and labelled.

Pictures of the truck can be found on my (outdated) website at:

http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~gay/

(Don't panic at the URL, "Gay" is my last name so this is NOT a porn site!)

Included is an LMC suspension kit with all the springs, ball joints, bushings, u bolts, etc to get the suspension back together. I spent about $600 on the kit. I also have all the new door rubber, new tail light lenses and other parts worth about another $200 to $300 dollars.

I would like $500 for everything (trying to recover some of my losses on the parts, bought the truck for $600...but it was on one piece then).

Please e-mail me at mngay@purdue.edu if you are interested. (I may not get back to this board quick enough) I am located in West Lafayette, Indiana (47906 Zip code) but the truck is 30 miles away in storage in Fowler, Indiana.
