67-72 one piece window conversion?

I have a buddy that is painting my 68 chevy short bed, I want to put the one piece window conversion kit on but the cost is alittle costly, but my buddy said that if i take the window out & the side glass and use a piece of card board as a temp. plate any local automotive glass shop could cute me a glass as a One Piece unit, is this true & would everything work like the old? please help?

The glass is the easy part to have done, now you need to make the window channel, inner and outer seals and a filler piece for the front corner and the glass channel to operate correctly. If you have a fax i can send you the tech sheets for our Brothers kits we sell.
