Moving to Austin! How many Central Texas members do we have?
Making the move from Dallas to Austin at the end of the month. Bringing project Daisycutter along as well (yes, I'm still working on it).
Where's a good speed-shop in Austin? SC

There are no good speed shops in Austin. It just depends on what you want, that determines where you go!

I know nothing of speed shops, but do welcome you to Austin. There appears to be at least 8 - 10 of us from the area. We need to have a Austin/CenTex board meet sometime soon, but we'll wait to you get down here.

I think Austin Performance in north Austin (just west off I-35) is about as good as it gets around here. A couple in South Austin but Methinks you may be better off doing the mail-order route....
BTW, welcome to the worst traffic for such a "Progressive" city.

Hey superchevy, sorry to "hijack" your thread, but I had a question about a GMC Sprint factory service manual that I picked up. It has copyright 1972 on it, I would assume that would make it a manual for the 73 year model? Just curious, I figure if anyone would know, you probably would.
Thanks, and sorry again for "hijacking" the thread.

Hey 68 stepside. No prob. Open up the manual. If it is for a '73, it will show. There were several supplements issued for the '71 and '72 manuals...want to make sure it is a full manual and not a supplement.
Later, SC

Well, the manual I have doesn't have a clear year printed on it. The number in the rh top corner is X7227. Here are a few pics I snapped. I'm kinda curious, as I'd like to sell the manual, but I don't wanna list an incorrect year.
Thanks again, TJ

Looks like a '72 manual to me.
All my manuals are at my shop in Dallas at the moment (I'm here in the new house in Austin right now). Open it up to the very beginning where it has the "how to identify" section and lists VIN and engine codes. Should just have the 71 and 72 info. SC

Welcome
Welcome to Austin.
There are a few of us boardmembers around Central Texas. Austin Performance is the only place that I know of on the north side. It's on North Lamar. After you move down, you should head down to the Y in Oak Hill on Summer/Fall Saturday nights for a little informal 'car show'. It usually has a few nice rides and the occasional 67-72 Chevy Truck.
