Replacement panel Questions

Has any one ever replaced the lower rear pillar on a blazer? I have found them for the trucks but wasn't sure they would fit a blazer. This is the part that is hidden by the rocker panel and is bolted on at the side by two bolts.

If you have replaced them let me know where you got the replacement panel and how much cussin' it involves...

Yup the rear door pillar is the same as a pickup. Depending on how high up you go with the patch will be how difflicult the job will be since you will have to drill out the spot welds at the bedside. To get to the rear bolts you will have to take off the rocker box end cap. It might be a little tricky getting the bolts in and out because it is so tight in there.

Gee-Emm, I knew you'd know. I've been looking at it and had come to the same conclusion. The good news is it only needs the bottom 2 inches replaced.

If it is only 2 inches you might even get away without having to drill out spotwelds on the bedside.

Yeah, I can see where it was spot welded on the post and it has good metal well below that point. 'Course you never really know until it's all cut out.

I started removing the bolts on the rocker box cap last night but had two that need to soak or be cut, I'll have a better idea then...
