Need paint scheme opinions

I've allready settled on what I want. Hawaiian Blue with the white roof and stripe. I have all the chrome (thanks to Christians Classics). What I do not know is the darned tail gate. I only have the turn signal light chrome. I ran out of dough and can not get the wood grain tail gate band and surrounding trim. So, should I paint the tail-gate all blue or blue with the white stripe?
All replies appreciated.

My 72 was Hawaiian blue and white. Blue with white top and white band down the side.

The tailgate was blue on top and white from the body line down.

This is what I did for the tailgate band. The aluminum diamond plate was pretty cheap. I had it sheared to size. I ground down the raised areas to put the GMC reflector emblem on.

Not a big diamond plate fan, but ditto chickenwing's "cool" for that look.

I can't throw in my opinion about the gate until I see the look of the whole truck...
