Thumbs down headers and exhaust - '65 lwb step w/'92 350/5.7l eng

Hiya folks.

I have a '65 chevy truck, long wheel base, stepside.

This truck has a '92 5.7L/350 sbc with 4160(600cfm) holley carb, performer edelbock aluminum intake manifold... as far as I know it's the stock cam or pretty close, it isn't anything radical.

This was all on it when I bought it... but it still has the stock exhaust manifold, and that dumps into some pretty small and crazy twisted exhuast pipes which is then shot out some cherry bomb mufflers.

Anyhoo, I'm thinkin' some headers would be neat... but I'm wondering if I go with headers that are for my truck, which is rare, or the general headers for a sbc? Hmn. Maybe some of those 'block hugger' headers? - then there is the whole 'muffler' thing.

I'm guessin' there are no exhaust systems for a '65 chevy lwb stepside... which is why I'm thinkin' the piece by piece route. The muffler part I'll hafta get someone to do.

Any suggestions, tips ?
