steering problems...
since i've changed my spindles from the 2.5" western chassis ones, to the 3" djm ones, the steering is a lot different.
there seems to be a lot more play in the wheel and the truck will "glide" to the right side while driving. i didnt move the tie-rod ends or anything that would affect the steering. anyone know whats up with it? |

Did you have the front-end aligned after installing the new spindles?

It maybe a situation where the leverage of the 3" spindles is exagerating a problem that was already there, such as worn tie rod ends. That is what happens alot of times when people switch to bigger tires. The steering system is worn, but its not noticeable until you put on the bigger tires.

Anytime you do any work at all on the front suspension, it's a must to realign the thing. What's the chance that the tierod mounting points on the spindle will be exactly in the same spot they were on the stock ones?

Ditto! You are still changing components, so it needs to be realigned.

It may need to be aligned, but that wouldn't cause him to have more play in the steering would it?
