Unhappy Stupid truck

Driving around town today running some errands, and as I am idling through a parking lot, suddenly my truck starts running rough, and has a hard time accelerating, it goes like normal if I give her plenty of pedal, but otherwise it barely wants to run... If I am just crusing down the road, the exhaust makes all sorts of popping noises and stuff.

Aye, finally thought I'd fixed the thing, now this, lol I guess I'll be parking her till I've got my TPI in...

I guess it won't hurt for me to go to the wrecking yard and get a new module, just to try it...

I've got a new dizzy that'll be going in with the TPI, so that should help a bit too.

I dunno if it would be the cam... The truck runs too good when I give it some gas for that to be...

bad plug wires if you haven't replaced those, or maybe they rubbed and shorted out? If in drive you here a tick tick tick and the motor stumbles, 1 or more plug wires are shorting on the block, and/or some plugs might be bad? Just throwing some stuff out there.

Same thing can happen if the valve lash isn't right also. That's why I mentioned the cam if they electrical side of things are good.

Might be crusty spark plugs. My '79 Sub 350 gets buildup on the plugs if I drive it too slow. Every time I go through Austin I have to go 3-5MPH for 45 minutes, & it will barely run for the next 30 miles or so. Same thing just driving slow around town for a few days.

Russell,
Start simple, mine did the same thing a few weeks back and I changed the plugs and that fixed it. It needs a full tune up but I am waiting to do that later. Check your plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, rotor button under the cap.
