Blazer

I have decided to keep my 71 2wd. I will hopefully be staying in oregon for the winter, and doing as much of a resto as i can.. In the mean time though i happened across a 70 chevy blazer that was wrecked. The truck was completely restored, and was done very well! The kid was going up a hill, and tipped it back and smashed the tailgate, and rear end! There is a small crease on the drives side, but the door opens and closes. The trucks moter, tranny (was a 4 spd) front seats, and top are missing. Other then that, everything is there, and in great condition. Aboslutely no rust on this truck at all, and the rear end was fixed minus tailgate. My question is, is there anything that i should look for? I will try to take a measuring tape from end to end, and make sure there is no bendage, but it really doesnt seem like too much damage to the truck! I think i will buy it regardless becuase of how cheap it is, and the parts that are in it are in great shape. I wont be losing money, but would really like to restore the truck! any help or advice on anything to look for would be appreciated!

I would definately measure everything. Check the frame for weld marks and creases too. Sounds like you are going to get it fairly cheap, so it might even be worth parting. I assume it is a 4x4, right? If so, is the t-case and drivelines still there?

Im thinking i can get it for less then $500. so it will well be worth it in parts. The transefer case is sitting by it, and the rear driveline is there.. The owner started to fix the damage and tghen jsut left it for dead, so i dont think he got to any welding, and everything looks kosher. I will have to check it out to make sure though! thanks for the info!

I'm sure it is worth the $500.
